This document contains my first copy of my written article for my print magazine production. I understand that due to the length of the article - adjustments may have to be enforced to ensure the article content meets the criteria and understanding of the audience I have targeted towards. Alongside this - I have deviated slightly from the original idea of using a discursive and descriptive register for an article and had accommodated for more of an investigative piece. Primarily I wanted to use research into the varied youth subcultures. However - I had decided to use interviews combined with research to achieve this.

Above appears my contingency plan for my production. Particularly linked with my photo-shoot for my main product. It was necessary to complete this task a producer as it has meant I am able to identify and evaluate any complications that can arise throughout the production stages. It highlighted the complications that can occur in regards to both pre-production and production, such as technical issues, weather complications and any ethical issues that may arise when proceeding to both take the photographs and collating them ready for the editing procedure.
Shown above is my conducted risk assessment for my photoshoot plan, this was necessary in the completion of my print production as it would evaluate what risks may arise throughout. It was taken in order to prevent these risks and to minimise them as much as possible. In order to retain the photographs I will deem as effective, it is necessary to take a risk assessment to eliminate any potential hazards that could arise on the organised shooting days.
This pre-production material outlines my choices of shots, number of shots and justifications for these shot uses. This photography plan provides an understanding of the shots I can use for my productions and how audiences will resonate and relate to these shot types.
The pre-production material above outlines my justifications and decisions for locations to shoot for my regional magazine: Bright-On to collate imagery for the final product. I have considered issues that way arise when shooting (such as weather) and the reasons why these locations would work beneficial to the overall brand identity of the magazine. These locations will also be used to produce imagery for my billboard advertisement to further the promotion of my product. This will create a symbolic house style throughout and relate to a "story" of how youth has moved and altered over time as a key part of the context for the first issue of Bright-On magazine.
Shown above here are two pre-production materials. One outlines my creative decisions for the colour scheme for my main production task: A regional print magazine, Bright-on which highlights my justifications as to why I will use specific colours throughout my magazine in correlation with house style throughout my magazine. Moreover, the second document used here is my justifications for font choices to be used. Understanding how audiences will engage with specific types of typography and how certain forms of font choices do not work in relation to genre.
Also to note here, my choices for colour scheme and typography choices will also cross into my billboard advertisement product. This will keep to a significant house style throughout the creation of my products and will therefore create a brand identity for my key audience members who will purchase the product (those of the age grouping 18-mid 20's). This task takes the form of layout design thumbnails - whereby I have produced 3 designs for my print magazine publication. It was necessary to produce these designs to see how I would intend on interpolating my audiences through the uses of design and graphology. However - its is crucial to recognize that these are basic designs which can alter due to discovering a range of editing techniques and styles which will account for my intended audience types. These are a simple indication as to how I wish my product to formulate. The layouts designs conclude of the front cover, contents page and double-page spread for the issue of the magazine.
In this post I have included my evaluative consideration for my primary audience type. I have produced a audience profile breakdown of the primary readers for my print magazine publication. Moreover, I have considered the following elements throughout this to indicate more clearly who my audience are and why they would be interested in my product specifically. The demographics considers the age bracket, gender, class and racial group for my audience type. The geo-demographic has considered the regional area of where my audience lives and the social class grouping of that region specifically. Additionally to this - the socio-economic groupings - whereby my audience have been categorized in terms of the economic status and class. Lastly - the psycho-graphical grouping; considering the uses of the audiences lifestyles and personality traits. This further considers whether my product would be appropriate and beneficial to them as an audience type and how as a consumer - whether their personality traits and lifestyles would allow them to want to engage with my regional print magazine.
For this task I had conducted relevant research for readership figures, circulation figures and relevant distribution figures. Identifying and researching into print magazines of similarity and how they used their media product to intepollate audience types. Alongside this, I had depicted how I wish to use the order of content in relation to genre. As the majority of research has focussed upon culture and fashion magazines - subject to regions. This has given me clarification as to specific genres I wish to contain within my product throughout. Furthermore - as derived from my primary research - secondary research has indicated how online distribution can reach out to further audience types. This can link with how I may wish to do this for future distributed issues. Allowing for greater audience recognition and therefore higher readership and circulation figures altogether.
Shown in this post is my pitch presentation and the filming of the pitch taking place to a few selected potential audience members. The audience posed questions relevant to my production which enabled me to elaborate on context such as editorial choices, choices for layout etc.
